Washburn University students, staff, faculty, administration and the greater Topeka community are welcome to join the Center for Safety and Empowerment – YWCA Northeast Kansas, in conjunction with Washburn University professor and author Dennis Etzel, Jr. and professor Dr. Jericho Hockett on Thursday, October 20 from 1:30-2:30 PM in the Washburn University Memorial Union Underground for free snacks, beverages, and poetry performances in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Week Without Violence. This event will provide a safe space for our community to speak-up and speak-out against relationship violence and sexual assault or to share words of encouragement, empowerment and support for survivors of violence.
If you are not in the space to share, please feel free to come and listen to the words of others. Counseling and advocacy services will be available.
